GNSS reception characteristics around Techno-Z campus

The positioning quality of GNSS/GPS depends, among numerous other factors, on the topography around the receiver. In a built environment with structures obscuring part of the local horizon as well as reflecting signals, these and further effects will lead to strong local variability in positioning results.

Using different types of receivers as well as mission planning software the Techno-Z campus shall be explored and documented. Results have a research and (predominantly) instructional orientation.

App: explaining Latin inscriptions in Salzburg

Source
All over Salzburg inscriptions in Latin (well, kind of ...) language can be found. An explanatory guidebook currently is in the process of being published. Its authors envision an app for interested tourists (or locals) explaining the meaning and background of these texts.

Solid computer skills are required (eg handling platforms like Wikitude Studio), no programming is anticipated. As an outcome, we aim at a prototype app linking location, image and a brief explanatory text.

WebMap / StoryMap International Students @PLUS

The University of Salzburg each semester publishes the numbers of international students by country of origin. A time series of these data sets shall be designed and published as a storymap. The target audience would be university administration / leadership and anyone interested in exploring the structure of PLUS' international student body.

See this web app as a prototype app >>> http://tinyurl.com/PLUS16W

As an alternative, a similar project can be set up analyzing origins of students within Austria and nearby.
